Maharashtra : Educational documents to be attested online now
Mumbai, March 12, 2020 : Students of Mumbai University can now get their educational documents attested online for foreign studies or job. Tourism and Environment Minister Aditya Thackeray and Higher & Technical Education Minister Uday Samant launched the computerized attestation process.
The inauguration ceremony of this program took place at the official residence of the Environment Minister. Vice-Chancellor of Mumbai University Prof. Suhas Pednekar, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ravindra Kulkarni, Registrar Dr. Ajay Deshmukh, and eminent members of Management Council were present in the ceremony.
Inaugurating the program, Environment Minister Aditya Thackeray said that Mumbai University has taken an important decision to provide students with online attestation facility in less time and a minimal fee. This is a student-centered decision and a very welcoming decision. He said that students of University affiliated colleges, recognized institutions, and the University department will benefit from this service on a large scale. He also mentioned the need for University to create the right curriculum with the changing education system with the time. Mumbai University is the first university in the country and efforts should be taken to maintain the reputation of this university. He also told that the government would do its best of all to help new initiatives launched by the university.
Higher & Technical Education Minister Uday Samant said that all the units of the society should take efforts for the development of the university. Students will get their documents attested online in three to four days under this computerized attestation process. Students will no more have to waste their time in document verification and investigation process. Shri. Samant also told that students of Mumbai University who have now settled in foreign countries would also benefit from this facility largely. University’s Student Development Department will work to implement this important decision of Mumbai University. A separate link will be made available on the website and students can avail of this facility from the home. Dr. Sunil Patil, Director of Student Development Department informed that currently, around ten thousand students apply each year for the educational documents attestation.
Vice-Chancellor Suhas Pednekar said that this online attestation process has been started keeping students convenience in mind. Students need educational documents attested to foreign studies or jobs. This is a digital step taken by the university. This computerized attestation process will not only save the time but students can avail the facility from their home a very low fee.
