Maharashtra Elections: Sunil Tingre Promises Grand Statue of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar in Vishrantwadi

Vishrantwadi, 10th November 2024: Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar) candidate Sunil Tingre, currently serving as the MLA for Vadgaonsheri, has pledged to erect a grand statue of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar at Vishrantwadi’s Mukundrao Ambedkar Chowk. Tingre made this announcement during a padayatra (foot march) where he engaged with voters in Ambedkar Society, Phulenagar, Shantinagar, and Pratiknagar areas of Yerwada.

During the campaign, Tingre received widespread support from local citizens and workers, who praised his efforts in addressing community needs. His continuous funding for local community temples and initiatives aimed at solving various civic problems has earned him appreciation from the residents.

Tingre highlighted the significance of the Vishrantwadi area, which hosts Pune’s largest procession celebrating Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s birth anniversary. “We are planning to erect a grand statue of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar at Mukundrao Ambedkar Chowk, a promise I have made and intend to fulfill,” Tingre stated.

In addition to the statue, Tingre discussed the various development projects completed in the area, including the construction of meeting halls, public toilets, internal roads in Ambedkar Colony, Panchsheelnagar, and Pratiknagar, sewage channel improvements, and the building of the Triratna Buddhist Vihar. He reaffirmed his commitment to providing continued support for the region’s temples and community spaces.

Tingre also addressed the ongoing issue of flooding in Shantinagar, assuring voters that he would implement a permanent solution to prevent future flood incidents.

Several prominent local leaders and former corporators, including Sheetal Sawant, Ajay Sawant, and Mangesh Gole, accompanied Tingre on his campaign walk. They were joined by other key figures such as Subhash Chavan, Bhagwan Jadhav, Sagar Kamble, and office bearers and workers from the Mahayuti alliance, who lent their support to Tingre’s re-election campaign.
