Maharashtra Government Declares Six States As ‘Places Of Sensitive Origin’ For Train Passengers

Pune, 19 April 2021: In order to curb the transmission of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID19) virus and to stop the influx of other COVID19 virus variants into the State of Maharashtra from other locations, the state government has declared some states as places of sensitive origin.
The Maharashtra government has declared the following states as places of sensitive origin: Kerala, Goa, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Delhi and NCR region and Uttarakhand. The number of COVID cases is on the rise in these states. Passengers from these states will need RT-PCR negative test report for COVID19.
“These places will be considered as places of ‘Sensitive Origin’ for train travel till the time it is retracted or till COVID19 stays notified as a disaster”, states an order issued by Sitaram Kunte, Chief Secretary of Government of Maharashtra.
