Maharashtra: NIA will investigate Amravati chemist murder case

Mumbai, 2nd july 2022: Amaravati shopkeeper Umesh Kolhe was murdered on June 21. It is said that Umesh was murdered in protest against posting a post on social media in support of Nupur Sharma.

The investigation into the murder of a shopkeeper in Maharashtra’s Amravati has been handed over to the NIA.

According to sources, Union Minister Amit Shah has issued instructions in this matter. Amaravati shopkeeper Umesh Kolhe was murdered on June 21. It is said that Umesh was murdered in protest against a post on social media in support of Nupur Sharma. Six accused have been arrested in the case.

According to information received from the police, 54-year-old Umesh Prahladrao Kolhe used to run a chemist’s shop. He had posted in support of Nupur Sharma on social media. It is claimed that due to this he was murdered on June 21. Six people were arrested by the Maharashtra Police in the case. All these people are being interrogated. At the same time, the team of ATS is also engaged in investigation regarding the terrorist aspect of the incident. ATS is looking for the Udaipur connection of the Amravati incident.
