Maharashtra Standardizes Summer Vacation Dates for State Board Schools

Pune, 30th April 2025: The Maharashtra School Education Department has standardized the summer vacation schedule across all state board schools, ensuring uniformity for primary, secondary, and higher secondary institutions. The vacation will begin on May 2, following the declaration of exam results on May 1 for all municipal and private schools.
However, schools affiliated with other education boards or those running essential academic programs will have the flexibility to set their own holiday schedules for students.
For the upcoming 2025–26 academic session, schools across the state—excluding Vidarbha—will reopen on June 16. In Vidarbha, where extreme heat conditions persist, schools will operate on a reduced morning schedule from June 23 to 28, before resuming full-day classes from June 30.
The education department has also clarified that school staff, including headmasters, clerks, and non-teaching personnel, will be required to report for duty during the holidays. Their responsibilities will include administrative tasks such as Class 11 admissions and system updates.
