Mumbai, 30th April 2025: Maharashtra’s Minister of State for Minority Affairs, Madhuri Misal, conducted a comprehensive review of key minority-focused institutions, including the Maulana Azad Minorities Financial Development Corporation (MAMFDC), Jain Economic Development Corporation, and the State Haj Committee, emphasizing enhanced loan recovery, educational outreach, and Haj pilgrimage facilities.

The minister directed MAMFDC officials to intensify loan repayment monitoring and improve recovery rates while ensuring wider access to educational schemes for minority students. She also instructed the Jain Economic Development Corporation to expedite central government fund allocation requests and prioritize infrastructure development.

For the Haj Committee, Misal emphasized streamlined travel planning, safety measures, and amenities for 18,949 pilgrims from Maharashtra. Additionally, she urged the Urdu and Punjabi Sahitya Academies to maximize outreach for literary programs using allocated funds and promoted toll-free helpline 18225786 for grievance redressal.

The review focused on optimizing existing schemes, including skill development and housing initiatives under MAMFDC, which offers loans up to ₹30 lakh with 5% borrower contribution. The directives align with Maharashtra’s 2024-25 budgetary emphasis on minority welfare, including increased loan guarantees for MAMFDC from Rs 30 crore to Rs 500 crore.
