Maharashtra: State Eligibility Test (SET) for Assistant Professor to Be Held on May 4 in Offline Mode
Pune, 29th December 2024: The State Eligibility Test (SET) for the position of Assistant Professor in universities and colleges will be conducted on May 4, 2025, in the traditional offline mode, according to a circular issued by the in-charge Registrar of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), Dr. Jyoti Bhakare.
The SET examination, organized by the SET Department of Savitribai Phule Pune University, caters to candidates from Maharashtra and Goa. Earlier, there had been speculation that the SET exam might shift to an online format, similar to the University Grants Commission’s National Eligibility Test (UGC NET). This uncertainty had sparked curiosity among candidates.
However, the university has clarified that the 40th SET examination will follow the conventional Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) method, just like the previous 39 examinations. This decision aligns with the instructions provided by the UGC.
The university has announced that the detailed schedule, syllabus, and additional information regarding the SET examination will be published on its official website in due course. Candidates are advised to stay updated through the website for any further announcements.
