Maharashtra State Reserves Rs 101 Crore Fund For Restoration Of Ancient Caves And Temples

Pune, January 12, 2021: The Maharashtra State Government has made budgetary allocations of Rs 101 crore for the restoration of ancient caves and temples in the State. Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) will be carrying out the restoration work.

Maharashtra State is known for its forts and temples. Similarly, it is known as the land of Saints. It has several ancient caves, temples and scriptures. Interestingly, among 12 Jyotirlinga, three are in Maharashtra State.

Likewise, Alandi, Pandharpur, Ashtavinayak, Tuljabhavani, Mahalakshmi, Renukamata and Saptshrungi these three and a half ‘shakti peeth’, are in the state. The state wants to make these places of international repute.

Thus, the state has taken the decision to hand over the restoration of these places to MSRDC. A budget allocation of Rs 101 crore will be made in the coming General Budget session. The building department secretary Anilkumar Gaikwad had issued the notification in this regard.
