Maharashtra WCD Recruitment: Orphan Candidates Will Be Preferred For Contractual Jobs

Mumbai, January 5, 2021: Maharashtra’s women and child development (WCD) department has announced that it will open vacancies for orphan candidates, instead of outsourcing recruitments for contractual posts.

 

On Monday, the state government directed the WCD department, to give special preference to orphan candidates for the posts filled through the external system in the department. WCD minister adv Yashomati Thakur and minister of state Bachchu Kadu has directed the administration to take immediate action in this regard.

 

The Maharashtra government had announced a one percent reservation for jobs and education to orphan candidates for state government, semi-government posts. Many posts at the WCD department are recruited on a contract basis through external mechanisms. These posts include assistant and multipurpose staff in the defence officer’s office, data entry operator in Child Welfare Committee and Juvenile Justice Board, various posts in One-Stop Center, etc. are filled on a contract basis.

 

Therefore, the department has decided to give special preference to orphan candidates for these posts. However, while applying for these posts, the candidate will have to fulfill criteria such as producing the orphan certificate issued by the competent authority as well as the required educational, technical, physical etc. qualification for the post.
