Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki Sales Rise In February

Mumbai, 3rd March 2025: The Indian automobile industry witnessed a mixed performance in February, with some manufacturers reporting growth while others faced a decline in sales. Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) and Maruti Suzuki (MSI) recorded positive sales figures during the month.

Mahindra Motor India reported a 15% increase in total sales, reaching 83,702 units compared to 72,923 units in February 2024. Compact car sales also saw a marginal rise, with a total of 72,942 units, up from 71,627 units in the same period last year. However, Tata Motors reported an 8% decline, selling 78,344 units, while Hyundai Motor India registered a 3% drop at 58,727 units. Kia India sold 25,026 vehicles, and Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) achieved a 13% increase,
with total sales of 28,414 units. JSW MG Motor India recorded the highest growth among major players, with a 16.3% rise to 4,956 units. These figures reflect a dynamic market with varied performances across brands.

The company’s utility vehicle sales in the domestic market increased by 19 percent to 50,420 units. Exports rose 99 percent to 3,061 units. In February last year, the company exported 1,539 vehicles. Maruti Suzuki sold 1,99,400 cars the previous month. This is a marginal increase from 1,97,471 vehicles in February. The company said on Saturday that passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market stood at 1,60,791 units in February this year. MSI said sales of mini segment
cars, including Alto and Espresso, stood at 10,226 units last month compared to 14,782 units in the year-ago month.

In February, compact car sales slightly declined, reaching 72,942 units compared to 71,627 units in the same month last year. However, Tata Motors experienced an 8% decline in total sales, recording 78,344 units. Kia India sold 25,026 vehicles during the month. Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) reported a 13% rise in total sales, reaching 28,414 units. Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor India saw a 3% drop in sales, with 58,727 units sold. JSW MG Motor India, on the other hand, posted a significant 16.3% growth, selling 4,956 units.
