Mumbai, 19th July 2023: Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel are once again making headlines as they reunite on screen for the sequel of their blockbuster film Gadar. The upcoming movie, titled “Gadar 2,” directed by Anil Sharma and produced by Zee Studios, is set to hit theatres on August 11 this year. Fans will be delighted to see them reprising their iconic roles as Tara Singh and Sakeena.

Director Anil Sharma disclosed in an interview with Pinkvilla that the commencement of advance ticket bookings for “Gadar 2” is scheduled for July 28th. Interestingly, this is also the release date for Karan Johar’s “Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani,” starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, and Akshay Kumar’s “OMG 2.” Despite the clash, Anil Sharma firmly stated that “Gadar 2” holds a special place in people’s hearts, and the film’s release date will not be altered. The film’s team is busy with post-production and eagerly preparing for the August 11 release.

Recently, the makers of “Gadar 2” treated the audience with the release of the song “Khairiyat,” the second track from the film. The heartwarming video showcases Sunny Deol’s character embarking on a bus journey to meet his son, portrayed by Utkarsh Sharma. Meanwhile, Ameesha Patel’s character awaits their arrival at home, praying for their well-being. The song beautifully presents flashbacks of the family’s cherished memories, highlighting their journey towards reuniting. Composed by Mithoon, the soulful song is written by Sayeed Quadri and soulfully rendered by Arijit Singh.

During an appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show, Sunny Deol revealed that when “Gadar” was initially released, it faced resistance in Bollywood, possibly because it was a Punjabi film. However, the film’s massive success provided the makers with the confidence to create the much-anticipated sequel.
