New Delhi, 30th October 2025: A massive global outage hit several Microsoft services on Wednesday, disrupting platforms such as Microsoft 365, Azure, Teams, Word, Excel, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Store. Users across the world reported login failures, frozen dashboards, and service interruptions, leaving businesses and individuals stranded for hours.

According to Downdetector.com, the issue stemmed from a major technical fault in Microsoft’s Azure cloud service, which powers several of the company’s platforms. The outage affected thousands of users worldwide, including approximately 9,000 Microsoft 365 users and over 16,600 Azure users.

Microsoft confirmed the disruption through its Azure Status Page, stating that engineers were “investigating an issue impacting access to the Azure portal.” The company has not yet disclosed the root cause of the outage.

The downtime extended beyond business applications — Downdetector’s live outage map showed that the impact reached tech, retail, and gaming industries, with even Minecraft servers briefly going offline.

For many companies, the disruption was severe, as their day-to-day operations rely heavily on Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure. According to a report by TechRadar, the effects of the Azure outage were global, causing several enterprises to experience downtime lasting for hours.

As of late Wednesday night, Microsoft engineers were working to restore services, though many users continued to face intermittent access issues.
