Missing Engineer From Delhi Found Dead In Lonavala, Had Lost Way While Trekking

Pune, 24th May 2022: The body of a 24-year-old engineer hailing from Delhi who had been missing since Friday after going for trekking in the Nagphani (Duke’s Nose) Point area, was found today.

 

The deceased youth has been identified as Farhan Serajuddin, a resident of Delhi.

Farhan, an engineer, worked for a robotic company, and had come here for work. On May 20, he had gone to Lonavla and then went for trekking alone at the Nagphani Point. However, he lost his way. He informed his family members and friends through phone calls and text messages. They informed the police but by then his phone was switched off.

 

Pune rural police had launched a search operation with the help of Kurvande village residents, Shiv Durg Mitra Mandal and dog squad. His family had even announced a reward of Rs one lakh for anyone who could inform them of his whereabouts. His family members had also reached here and joined the search operation.

The police had been using drones to locate him. However, due to the dense jungle and deep ravines, it had been a difficult task to find him.

Today around noon, one team of 5th battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) equipped with all rescue and search equipments conducted search operation in the entire area where Farhan’s possible location could be traced out.

“Finally after thorough search of entire area body of his body was located deep down near Duke’s Nose valley”, an officer said.
