Monsoon Revival In Pune Expected From September 3 After Dry August

Pune, 1st September 2023: South Chhattisgarh and the North East Bay of Bengal have witnessed the development of cyclonic conditions, with a low-pressure belt extending to South Andhra Pradesh. Furthermore, meteorologists predict the formation of another cyclonic condition over the North Bay of Bengal on September 3. This forecast indicates a resurgence of the monsoon in Maharashtra after September 3, offering a ray of hope for the region.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) anticipates light to moderate rainfall in Pune between September 3 and 7, marking a promising turn of events for farmers and residents alike.

According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon is expected to regain its vigor in Maharashtra after September 3, providing much-needed relief for farmers grappling with a dry August. In Pune, the skies will remain partly cloudy on September 1st and 2nd, with the likelihood of isolated light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms. Pune is expected to experience scattered light to moderate rainfall from September 3rd to September 7th, with overcast skies prevailing.

August typically records the highest rainfall each year. However, this year has been an exception, as the entire month of August remained remarkably dry. This prolonged dry spell has raised concerns among farmers, as reservoirs are yet to reach their full capacity, increasing the risk of water scarcity and calls for drought declaration. Nevertheless, the impending revival of the monsoon offers optimism for farmers and citizens alike.
