More people are trying to destroy India’s traditions of knowledge and meditation – Dr. Nitish Bharadwaj

Pune, 25th February 2025: “India’s tradition of knowledge and meditation is great, but the number of people trying to break it appears to be more. We need to preserve it,” opined Dr. Nitish Bharadwaj, Former MP, an acclaimed actor – director known for his outstanding performance as Lord Krishna in the TV Serial Mahabharat.

Dr. Bharadwaj was speaking as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the ‘Vidhilikhit Jyotish Trideshakottar Sohala – 2025’, which was organized by Adv Vaishali and Adinath Salvi. Dr. Subhash Mahajan, former Director of the State’s Technical Education Department, and Dr. Dattaprasad Chavhan were also present on the occasion.

“There’s a churning of various thoughts worldwide, attempting to undermine what is native to India. India’s rich tradition of knowledge and meditation is being threatened by those trying to dismantle it. We must make an attempt to save it. Our country’s name is Bharat, not India. In ancient scriptures, our country is mentioned as Bharat. The British-imposed education system, introduced by Macaulay, aims to create a mindset of servitude. We must acknowledge and preserve our traditional knowledge system and the rich cultural heritage”, Dr. Bharadwaj added.

Dr. Nitish Bharadwaj emphasized that the path of action, the Karma Marg is applicable to everyone irrespective of the religion that he or she follows. He cautioned that sometimes excessive devotion leads to blind faith and excessive knowledge leads to fostering ego. Highlighting astrology as a science, he explained how celestial bodies like the Sun, Moon, and Mars significantly impact human life as they impact the nature, especially the sea.

In his speech Adinath Salvi cautioned the gathering from the marriage related issues that are likely to pop up in future like same sex marriage and youth not willing to get married or the couples not willing to have children after marriage and so on.

On this occasion, Y. N. Maggirwar, Siddheshwar Maratkar, Surendra Patwardhan and Govind Hendre were felicitated with the Vidhilikhit Jyotish Maharishi Award. Dr. Umesh Sangvikar, Shraddha Belgi and Sameer Khot, who won the first, second and third prizes respectively in the Machhindra Namdev Salvi Memorial Essay Competition, were also given prizes on this occasion. The Vidhilikhit Jyotish Maharishi Award. which was won by the audience’s poll, was given to Dr. Dattaprasad Chavan, Jitendra Vaze, Dr. Vijay Mahajan, Mugdha Patki, Prachi Malmkar, Shubhangini Pangarkar and Aparna Goregaonkar.
