More Than 3 Lakh Ticketless Passengers Fined In 11 Months In Pune Railway Division

Pune, 2nd March 2023: 20,537 people were found traveling without tickets during ticket inspection in Pune Railway Division in February and more than Rs 1.73 crore were collected from them. Also, 6,843 people have been fined more than Rs 40 lakh for irregular travel. A fine of Rs 19,000 has been collected from 171 people for carrying luggage without booking.

According to a press release issued by Manoj Jhawar, Public Relations Officer of Pune Railway Division, more than Rs 22.52 crore was recovered in 3,12,159 cases in 11 months from April to February this year.

The said action was taken under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Indu Dubey, Additional Divisional Railway Manager Brijesh Kumar Singh, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Dr Milind Hirve and Divisional Commercial Manager Dr with Ramdas Bhise.

The ticket-checking campaign is continuously going on by the railway administration. Passengers are requested to travel with valid tickets. Otherwise, passengers have to pay the fine under the Railway Act and in default, they can also face imprisonment.
