Music Composer Wajid Khan, of Sajid-Wajid fame, passes away at 42

Mumbai, June 1, 2020: Music composer Wajid Khan of Sajid-Wajid fame passed away at the age of 42. He was suffering from a kidney infection. The news of the demise of the veteran singer was revealed by singer Sonu Nigam. The Sajid-Wajid duo is known for composing several hit songs for Salman Khan Films such as ‘Wanted’, ‘Dabangg’, and its series. 

Wajid Khan breathed his yesterday night. He was hospitalized for the last two months due to his critical heart condition. The reason for his death is not clear as some reports claim it because of COVID-19 while others because of kidney failure. 

Sajid-Wajid duo had given music Salman Khan’s latest song Bhai Bhai which was released on Eid. Wajid Khan of the Sajid-Wajid fame was popular for his work on superstar Salman Khan’s films such as Wanted, Dabangg and Ek Tha Tiger. 

The music composer duo made their Bollywood debut in the year 1998 with Salman Khan in the film Paar Kiya Toh Darna Kya and went on to work on with him in several other films including Garv, Tere Naam, Tumko Na Bhool Payenge, Partner and the popular Dabangg franchise. 

Wajid Khan also did playback for Salman Khan’s blockbuster songs Mera Hi Jalwa, Fevicol Se and for Akshay Kumar in Chinta Ta Chita Chita from the film Rowdy Rathore. Sonu Nigam, Mika Singh, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Salim Merchant, Akshay Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and other celebs took to social media to mourn Wajid Khan’s sad demise.
