Shirdi, 25th February 2026: Pune Division of Central Railway has inaugurated a newly constructed 20-bedded Railway Protection Force (RPF) barrack at Sainagar Shirdi Railway Station, aimed at enhancing security preparedness and operational readiness in the region.

The facility was developed under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Rajesh Kumar Verma and is strategically located near the station to facilitate swift deployment of RPF personnel during emergencies and routine operational requirements. Railway officials stated that the proximity of the barrack will ensure quicker response time and improved coordination, particularly during periods of heavy passenger movement.

The initiative assumes added significance in view of the upcoming Kumbh-related passenger surge in Nashik, where enhanced security arrangements and crowd management measures are expected to be crucial. The increased on-ground availability of RPF staff is intended to support intensified security monitoring and effective handling of large passenger inflows.

According to railway authorities, the barrack is equipped with essential staff welfare amenities, including a structured messing facility and a dedicated meditation room. These provisions are designed to support the well-being and operational efficiency of deployed personnel.

The newly established infrastructure forms part of ongoing efforts by Pune Division to augment security infrastructure and improve readiness across key stations witnessing high footfall and pilgrimage traffic.
