Pune, 18th January 2024: The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra has emerged as a potent instrument in the battle against malnutrition, poverty, and unemployment in India.

Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, highlighted the pivotal role of this initiative, emphasizing its primary goal of eradicating societal ills such as poverty and propelling marginalized sections towards development.

Addressing a gathering at the Somnath temple premises in Wadgaon Sheri, Pune, during a program organized to welcome the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, Choubey commended the yatra’s effectiveness in fostering progress. Kunal Khemnar, Additional Commissioner of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), was also present at the event.

The program commenced with a live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s video conferencing interaction with beneficiaries of Viksit Bharat. Following the session, Choubey visited the camps showcasing various schemes, including PM Ujjwala Yojana, PM SVANidhi Yojana, and Ayushman Bharat, set up at the venue. He engaged with the beneficiaries, gaining insights into the impact of these schemes on their lives.

Choubey lauded the government’s commitment to fostering self-reliance, affirming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration has consistently introduced beneficial schemes for the underprivileged, tribal communities, eunuchs, and persons with disabilities to safeguard their rights and empower them. He noted that these initiatives are successfully integrating individuals from deprived sections into the mainstream.

Highlighting the government’s motto, “People’s service is God’s worship,” Minister Choubey underscored the vision of initiating India’s development journey in the villages. The overarching goal is to extend support to those who are yet to reap the benefits of developmental schemes, ultimately eliminating malnutrition, poverty, and unemployment nationwide. Minister Choubey further revealed that, given the overwhelming response to the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra, its duration would be extended to continue impacting positive change across the country.
