NCW to Hold Public Hearing on 35 Pending Women’s Complaints in Pune on July 2
Pune, 30th June 2025: In an effort to ensure swift resolution of women-related grievances, the National Commission for Women (NCW) will hold a special public hearing in Pune on July 2. The session will be chaired by NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar at 12 noon in the multipurpose hall on the fifth floor of the District Collector’s Office, according to District Women and Child Development Officer Manisha Biraris.
A total of 35 pending complaints registered during 2023, 2024, and 2025 and involving the Pune City Police, Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate, and Pune Rural Police will be taken up. Walk-in complainants will also be accommodated during the hearing.
The NCW team will begin preliminary hearings at 12 noon, with Chairperson Rahatkar scheduled to directly hear cases from 2 pm onward.
Women wishing to participate are requested to submit their complaints in writing and ensure they are present to make the most of this important opportunity, Biraris added.
