Satara: Pune Tourist Dies of Heart Attack While Trekking Near Wai
Wai, 30th June 2025: A tourist from Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune, died of a heart attack while en route to Raireshwar Fort, located in Wai taluka of Satara district. The incident occurred seven kilometers from Wai, within the limits of Asare village.
The deceased has been identified as Mayur Chandrakant Chaudhari (age 42), a resident of Signature Park, Dange Chowk, Pimpri Chinchwad. According to a report filed at Wai Police Station by Deepak Dashrath Berge from Kalewadi, Pimpri, Pune, a case of accidental death (AD) has been registered.
Mayur Chaudhari was visiting the western part of Wai with friends for tourism. While traveling towards Raireshwar Fort, he began experiencing chest pain and excessive sweating near Asare village. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Wai for treatment. However, doctors declared that he had passed away before receiving medical attention.
Wai Police are investigating the matter further.
