New Air Routes to Transform Connectivity: Fly91 to Link Jalgaon with Pune, Goa, and Hyderabad
Pune, 1st December 2023: In a groundbreaking development, Fly91, a prominent private airline headquartered in Goa, has unveiled plans to inaugurate air routes connecting Jalgaon with Pune, Goa, and Hyderabad. Set to commence operations in February next year under the ambitious UDAN-5.0 scheme, this initiative marks a significant leap in regional air travel.
Recently engaging with Jalgaon district collector Ayush Prasad, Fly91 officials outlined their strategies for these upcoming routes. The airline is primed to deploy a 76-seater ATR aircraft, specifically aimed at enhancing accessibility for Jalgaon residents, particularly benefiting students with the newfound air link to Pune.
At present, the travel between Jalgaon and Pune heavily relies on 58 daily bus services. The imminent introduction of flights is poised to revolutionize travel, offering passengers a more convenient and efficient transportation alternative. Fly91 is actively working towards the launch in February, diligently seeking approvals from the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and pertinent authorities, as confirmed by the district collector.
The Jalgaon airport, under the administration of the Airport Authority of India (AAI), presently lacks commercial flight services. Notably, an earlier attempt by a private airline to establish flights between Jalgaon, Mumbai, and Pune faced technical impediments, ceasing operations in April 2022.
During the recent high-level discussions with district officials, Fly91 revealed a comprehensive timeline for operationalizing these new routes. The inaugural flight on the Jalgaon-Pune route is slated for the initial week of February, followed by the Jalgaon-Goa route in the final week of February. Subsequently, the Jalgaon-Hyderabad route is anticipated to commence operations in March.
