Pune, 24th April 2023: Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has added eight E-Shivai buses to its fleet. After completion of bus passing work at the Regional Transport Office (RTO), the E-Shivai buses will enter passenger service in the first week of May. These buses will run from Pune to Mumbai, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar City, Solapur, and Nashik.

The first E-Shivai bus entered the ST Corporation on 1st June 2022 on the occasion of ST’s 75th anniversary. The new E-Shivai bus has a completely new look compared to the first Shivai bus. In the first phase, MSRTC plans to induct 150 E-Shivai buses, with the Pune division alone receiving 50 E-buses. MSRTC officials expect all these buses to gradually enter the Pune division by 20th May.

The E-Shivai buses will run mainly on Pune-Mumbai, Pune-Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Pune-Thane, Pune-Kolhapur, Pune-Solapur, Pune-Nashik, and Pune-Borivali routes. The MSRTC is in the final stage of setting up a charging station in the divisional office at Swargate to support these buses.

In addition to the E-Shivai, E-Shivneri buses will also enter MSRTC’s fleet. These air-conditioned buses are expected to begin passenger service on Maharashtra Day (1st May) after the completion of passing work at Mumbai RTO. The E-Shivneri buses will run on the Pune-Mumbai route, providing comfortable travel for passengers.
