Mumbai, 24th October 2023: In a surprising announcement, Nilesh Rane, the son of prominent politician Narayan Rane, has declared his retirement from active participation in politics. Rane took to social media to share the news, expressing his gratitude and offering insight into his decision.

In a tweet posted from the X app, Nilesh Rane stated, “Hello, I am permanently stepping aside from active politics, no longer interested in politics, for no other reason. I am very grateful to all of you who have given me so much love in the last 19/20 years, for sticking with me when there was no reason. I am very lucky to have met so much love in BJP and to have the opportunity to work in such a great organization like BJP. I am a small man but I learned a lot in politics, and some colleagues have become a family forever. I will always be indebted to them in life. I am no longer interested in contesting elections etc. Critics will criticize, but I don’t like wasting my time and others when it doesn’t suit my mind. I apologize for unintentionally offending some people. My best wishes to you all. Jai Maharashtra!”

Nilesh Narayan Rane, known for his political contributions, is the elder son of Narayan Rane, the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and the current Union Minister of the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises.

Nilesh Rane made his foray into politics by winning a seat in the 15th Lok Sabha of India, representing the Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg constituency in Maharashtra as a member of the Indian National Congress (INC). During his tenure in the 15th Lok Sabha, Rane served on the Committee on Home Affairs and the Rules Committee.

In a subsequent election, Nilesh Rane contested from the same constituency for a seat in the 16th Lok Sabha but was defeated by the Shiv Sena’s candidate, Vinayak Raut.

In 2019, Nilesh Rane joined the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP), and he remained associated with the party until his recent retirement from active politics. His decision marks a significant shift in his political career.

It’s worth noting that Nilesh Rane’s brother, Nitesh Narayan Rane, represents the Kankavli constituency in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. Nilesh Rane’s contributions to Indian politics have left a lasting impact, and his decision to step aside marks the end of an era in his political journey.
