No Order Yet to Reopen Tamhini Ghat, Pune Administration Clarifies; Urges Public to Ignore Social Media Rumours

Pune, 1st August 2026: The Pune district administration has clarified that the Tamhini Ghat route remains closed to traffic and that no official order has been issued to reopen it.

The administration has urged citizens not to rely on rumours or unverified messages circulating on social media and advised them to plan their travel only after an official notification is issued. Paud Police and the Pune Rural administration have appealed to the public to strictly follow instructions issued by the authorities and share only verified information to ensure public safety.

Meanwhile, with rainfall easing in the dam catchment areas, the discharge from Khadakwasla dam into the Mutha river has been reduced. According to the administration, a total of 6 TMC of water has been released from the reservoir so far.
