Now PMC To Set Up 40 Garbage Collection ATMs In Pune City

Pune, 12th October 2021: ATMs that will collect garbage will be set up in various parts of Pune city to collect recyclable waste such as plastic bottles, glass bottles, metal cans, plastic wrappers. The Standing Committee of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has approved the innovative plan of the startup company Ecomax Go.

 

Recyclable waste will be collected in these ATM machines. It will further help to reduce the stress on the door-to-door waste collection.

 

Citizens need to register in this machine through their mobile number to participate in this project. You will then need to specify the type of waste to be selected. People will get one rupee for a plastic bottle, three rupees for a glass bottle, two rupees each for metal cans, and twenty paise each for plastic wrappers.

 

For the place where these machines will be installed, 24 hours free Wi-Fi, facility to open a new bank account, purchase of new SIM card, purchase of tickets for cinema, train, bus, etc will be provided. Garbage collected in ATMs will be disposed of in a scientific manner.

 

The ATM will be 6 feet high and 4 feet wide. This machine will have three screens. The next screen will have information on machine usage, municipal advertisements, advertisements of other companies. These machines are operational in South Delhi, North Delhi and Varanasi. Forty machines will be installed in public places in Pune city in a phased manner over a period of three years for ten years, informed Hemant Rasne, PMC Standing Committee chairman.
