Number Of Water Supplying Tankers Reduced From 66 To 29 In Pune District

Pune, 14th July 2022: The Pune district is witnessing heavy rains for the past few days. According to the district administration, due to the availability of water, the number of tankers in the district is reduced by half.

By the end of June, 66 tankers were supplying water. At present, only 29 tankers are supplying water to the citizens and still, 60,000 citizens are affected.

 

Every year in March water scarcity hits the district. Water is supplied by tankers between March and June in the Shirur, Khed, Ambegaon, Junnar, Bhor, Velha, and Haveli tehsils.

 

At present, water is supplied by 29 tankers to 60, 305 citizens. Ambegaon taluka currently has five tankers, while Shirur has 15 tankers. Six tankers are supplying water in Khed taluka. Water is also supplied by one sponsored tanker to Baramati, Junnar, and Purandar.

 

The district administration said that currently there is no tanker running in seven tehsils including Velhe, Bhor, Daund, Indapur, Haveli, Maval, and Mulshi.
