Omicron: Maharashtra Government Releases New Restrictions On Gatherings For Social, Political Etc Programs

Mumbai, 31st December 2021: In order to prevent spread of Omicron cases in Maharashtra, the state government has released new set of guidelines which will come into effect from midnight onwards.

These are the guidelines:

a. In the case of Marriages, whether in enclosed spaces or open to sky spaces, the maximum number of attendees shall be restricted to 50 persons.

b. In case of any gathering or program, whether social, cultural, political or religious, whether in enclosed spaces or open to sky spaces, the maximum number of attendees shall be restricted to 50 persons.

c. Maximum 20 persons allowed last rites program.

d. In any part of the state which are tourist spots or other places that attract large congregations of people such as beaches, open grounds etc. the Competent Authority concerned can impose Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure 1973.
