DCP (crime) Bachchan Singh said, “After people fill the form on the website requesting passes for their vehicle movement, we examine them. If the pass is issued, the person gets QR Code on the registered phone number and if it is rejected we send a message informing the same. The QR Codes have to be shown when they are stopped at nakabandi points by police.”

As per record, out of 1.09 lakh people who applied, 34714 have been given digital passes (QR codes), while requests of 50,933 have been rejected. The other requests are being processed. 237 persons were given passes for going to take delivery of LPG cylinders, while 3346 were given passes for banking related work.

People were also given passes to go for buying ration, grocery items and other essential commodities. Police had earlier given 8300 physical passes to e-commerce companies but they are also being issued QR codes now.
