Over 800 Buyers in Pune’s Godrej Greens Project Await Possession Amidst Builder’s False Assurances

Pune, 30th May 2023: More than 800 homebuyers at the Godrej Greens project in Undri are eagerly awaiting possession of their dream homes. However, their excitement has turned into frustration as they accuse the builder of withholding crucial details regarding the handover process and providing only empty promises and excuses.

The aggrieved residents have reached a breaking point and intend to escalate the matter to the local police station. They claim that the builder has deceived them by not delivering the exact area of the property as mentioned in their documents. Additionally, the builder has allegedly collected 95 percent of the funds without completing the project and has ignored all communication attempts, including emails.

One of the affected investors, Arshad Mulani, decided to take action by filing a Right to Information (RTI) request with the Pune Municipal Corporation. His objective was to gather information about the delayed issuance of the occupancy certificate (OC) from the municipal body. To their astonishment, the residents discovered that the builder had failed to transfer a piece of land to the civic body, leading to the prolonged delay in obtaining the OC.

The situation has left the buyers in a state of uncertainty and anxiety, as their long-awaited possession is still hanging in the balance. They demand transparency, accountability, and immediate action from the builder to resolve the issues and fulfill their rightful expectations.

When contacted, Godrej Properties Spokesperson, “Our team has been in constant touch with all stakeholders, and we have provided updates to customers, assuring them that we will put forward our best efforts to obtain the occupancy certificate by July 2023. We understand the importance of timely delivery and would like to assure all customers of Godrej Greens that possession of their homes will be granted soon, as per the extended timelines.”
