Pune, 7th June 2023: Over a hundred passengers found themselves stranded at Pune Airport as an Air Asia flight to Bangalore faced a significant delay of over ten hours. The flight, originally scheduled to depart at 5:25 am, was repeatedly rescheduled throughout the morning, leaving passengers frustrated and inconvenienced. Eventually, the airline had to arrange an alternative flight, intended for Jaipur, to accommodate the stranded passengers.

Passengers received multiple messages about the delay, initially stating a half-hour delay, which was then rescheduled to 9:30 am. However, further rescheduling occurred, causing increasing frustration among passengers. Eventually, the airline arranged a Jaipur-bound flight at 3:15 pm as an alternative for the affected passengers.

Passengers alleged that senior airline officials failed to communicate with them adequately, and refreshments were provided only after clashes between passengers and airline staff at the airport. Some passengers had arrived at the airport as early as 2 am and were stranded for over 12 hours due to the ongoing issue. The situation escalated to clashes between the airline staff and passengers, requiring intervention from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel.
