Pune: Wagholi and Surrounding Areas Experience Load Shedding Due to Power Disruption
Pune, June 7, 2023: A technical failure occurred on Wednesday morning (June 7) in the 400 kV transmission network of Mahaparishan Company, leading to a significant power disruption from Lonikand to Karad. As a result, areas such as Uruli Kanchan, Wagholi, and Perane experienced scheduled power outages lasting for approximately two hours starting from 9:30 a.m. Each of these areas witnessed rotational power supply for the entire day, following a fixed timetable.
According to the available information, the power transmission from the upcoming Koyna Dam 4 to Lonikand’s 400 kV high voltage transmission network was planned. However, today morning, a technical failure occurred in this transmission network, leading to the disruption. Consequently, the planned power transfer of approximately 50 to 60 megawatts, which was supposed to be supplied under the Pune region, came to a halt. To rectify this power breakdown, urgent repair work is being carried out in various villages and surrounding areas including Uruli Kanchan, Wagholi, Kesnand, Perane, Sartapavadi, Koregaon Mul, Wadebolhai, Ashtapur, Naygaon, and others. The rotational power supply will continue in these areas for approximately two hours each, following a fixed schedule, starting from 9:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. The repair work for the restoration of the Mahaparishan transmission network is expected to be completed by 5:30 p.m. After that, the concerned authorities will initiate the necessary measures to ensure the normal supply of power in all the affected regions.

The sudden disruption in the power transmission network has inconvenienced residents and businesses in the affected areas. However, the power distribution authorities are working diligently to rectify the technical failure and restore the regular power supply as soon as possible. The local administration and power officials have urged the residents to bear with the inconvenience caused during this period and have assured that all necessary steps are being taken to minimize the impact and restore the power supply effectively.
