Pune: SRPF Showcases Impressive Performances In Ceremonial Drill At Annual Inspection

Wanowrie, 7th June 2023: The State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) of Maharashtra aims to become the leading state armed police force in the country, fully capable of handling any law and order crises at both national and state levels.

In line with the annual inspection for the financial year 2023-24, the SRPF Group No.2 in Pune conducted a ceremony on 6th June at 7 am to honor Director General of Police (DGP) Rajnish Seth. The event took place at the exercise ground of SRPF Group No.2 in Ramtekdi, Pune, led by Superintendent of Police Namrata Patil.

The ceremony included a Ceremonial Drill showcasing various company-wise performances, such as exciting demonstrations of physical training, weapon handling, and crowd dispersal. The ceremony was organized under the guidance of Special IG Ashok Morale with the assistance of SP Namrata Patil.

DGP Seth also inaugurated a new barrack for the trainees, an archery ground, and a skating ground for the children of SRPF personnel.

The barrack has been constructed with modern facilities to accommodate 50 trainees from the Maharashtra State Security Corporation. The barracks will also be utilized for the training of Maharashtra State Security Corporation trainees, Police Sub Inspectors, and trainees from the transport department.

The SRPF group also provides skating training to children for their bright future. Qualified coaches have been appointed for the sport of skating, and currently, 65 children receive training in the group. Sixteen schools participated in the state-level competition, securing 1 gold medal and 5 silver medals. As part of the police welfare activities, a skating ground has been established to support the children’s growth.

There are currently 80 children receiving archery training. Twenty-eight of them participated in the state-level competition, winning 8 gold medals, 3 silver medals, and 3 bronze medals. The children of policemen who achieved proficiency in skating and archery at the state and national levels were congratulated by the Director General of Police.

During the visit to the group premises, several areas were inspected, including the group camp, commandant’s office, quarter garden, group store, armory, and welfare activities such as Pathology Lab, study center, Ambacus Class, and children’s garden.
