Pathak puts up good fight as seven Indians Fail to qualify at 22nd edition of NECC Deccan ITF $40000 Women’s Tennis Tournament

Pune, January 23, 2023: None of the Seven Indian players who entered the final round qualifying could win their matches at the 22nd edition of the NECC Deccan ITF $40000 Women’s Tennis Tournament India’s longest-running and popular international tennis tournament which is being organized under the auspices of the ITF, AITA and MSLTA by Deccan Gymkhana and sponsored by National Egg Coordination Committee (NECC) at the Deccan Gymkhana Tennis Courts.

Only Paavanii Pathak managed to put up a fight she went fighting to seventh seeded Anastasia Sukhotina , the Russian Sukhotina won Paavanii Paathak 7-5, 7-5 .

In the upset ninth seeded Funa Kozaki of Japan upset sixth seeded compatriot Mei Yamaguchi 3-6, 6-1, 6-3 to qualify

On the positive side the Indian girls received 2 valuable WTA points for reaching the final round of the qualifying, while the winners of the qualifying made 4 WTA points
