It was in the year 1985 that the Government of India declared birthday of Swami Vivekananda as National Youth Day or ‘Yuva Diwas’. The day is celebrated to honour his legacy since then.

National Youth Day is celebrated in honour of the great philosopher and monk, Swami VIVEKANANDA whose life and teachings have encouraged millions across the world and proven to be the guiding light for the youth of the world. He motivated many youngsters to work towards Nation Building.

“You cannot believe in God,

Until you believe in your own self.”

He had immense faith in the power of the youth “What I want is Muscles of Iron and Nerves of Steel, Inside which dwells the mind of the same material as that of which the Thunderbolt is made,” he is reported to have said. Let his life mission & vision be a source of inspiration to all of Us. We must continue to adopt, imbibe, uphold and follow the path & principles shown by the great worldly philosopher, Thespian, Spiritual Leader & Eternal Youth Icon of this century.

Let us incorporate his principles in our day to day life to make it more meaningful, glorious, prosperous & to build a NEW INDIA of his dreams.

Each year a theme is fixed by the Government to mark the celebrations. This year the theme is “ITS ALL IN THE MIND”, echoing one of his most famous quote “Take risks in your lives; If you win, you can Lead! If you loose, you can Guide!!”
