PCMC Announces Property Tax Exemption For Over 10,000 Flat Owners For Contribution To Save Environment

Pune, 3rd November 2022: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has announced a property tax exemption of Rs 55 lakh for 10,853 flat owners who contributed significantly to the environment by building sewage treatment plants (STPs) and implementing zero waste projects in their societies.

 

Nilesh Deshmukh, Deputy Municipal Commissioner, Property Tax Department, PCMC, stated that the onsite compost rebate was provided to property owners in exchange for their active participation in the project and encouraged more citizens to take advantage of the discount scheme by forming environmental complementary societies.

 

 

This fiscal year, the civic body was able to collect Rs 400 crore in tax from approximately 5,82,000 properties in Pimpri-Chinchwad. To make tax payments easier, the PCMC launched several schemes and made changes to the existing system, including the ability to pay taxes online, obtain no objection certificates online, transfer assets online, and use various payment wallets. Aside from these, the municipal corporation has implemented various tax relief schemes to encourage citizens to pay their taxes on time.
