PCMC Launches Harit Wari, Nirmal Wari Initiative: 1 Lakh Seeds to Be Distributed for Ashadhi Wari
Pimpri Chinchwad, 9th June 2023: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has launched a commendable initiative called Harit Wari, Nirmal Wari, aimed at promoting a greener environment. As part of the initiative, the PCMC will distribute 5,000 packets containing approximately 1 lakh seeds to households during the upcoming Ashadhi Wari festival.
The initiative comes as a tribute to Sant Tukaram Maharaj and Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi ceremony, where the PCMC has already showcased meticulous planning. The focus this year has been on splendid floral decorations, which have captivated the attention of onlookers.
In addition to the captivating floral arrangements, the Garden Department has taken a significant step by implementing the concept of Harit Wari. Recognizing the pressing need for tree conservation and greening, this initiative aims to distribute various indigenous tree seeds to local residents. The Garden Department has devised a comprehensive plan to distribute 5,000 packets of seeds, including Saag, Raktakandan, Bahawa, Arjun, Karanj, Jambhul, Mango, Tamarind, Vilayati Tamarind, and Gulmohar.
