Petrol prices increased by Rs 3.31, diesel by Rs 3.42, sixth consecutive hike in last six days

Pune, June 12, 2020: Both petrol and diesel rates have been increased for the sixth consecutive day today. In six days, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs 3.31 per litre and the price of diesel by Rs 3.42. Petrol prices increased by 57 paise per litre on Friday for the sixth consecutive day and by 59 paise per litre in diesel.

According to Ali Daruwala, the national spokesperson of the All India Petrol Dealers Association, in Pune the price of petrol is Rs 81.27 while diesel is being sold for Rs 70.17 per litre today. Oil marketing companies fix petrol and diesel rates every day after reviewing prices. Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum revise petrol and diesel rates daily.

Government companies resumed the process of daily changes in fuel prices from Sunday. Earlier, due to the Coronavirus epidemic and lockdown, fuel prices in the country remained stable for 82 consecutive days. According to the notification of public sector oil marketing companies, the price of petrol in Delhi increased from Rs 74 per litre to Rs 74 per litre, while diesel price has increased from 72 rupees 22 paise to 72 rupees 81 paise. Prices have been raised across the country and petrol and diesel prices vary from state to state depending on local sales tax or value-added tax (VAT).
