Pimpri-Chinchwad, 17th March: In yet another distressing incident reported from the city, a 25-year-old married woman allegedly died by suicide at her residence in Pimpri-Chinchwad, with a domestic disagreement over a mobile phone suspected to have contributed to the tragedy.

The deceased, identified as Vaishnavi Sawan Dahival (25), had been married for the past three years and was living with her family. She is survived by her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter.

According to preliminary findings, Vaishnavi’s mobile phone had recently been damaged, after which she had reportedly asked her family to arrange a replacement. However, her request was not fulfilled, which allegedly led to repeated arguments and emotional distress in the household.

Police officials said the incident occurred on Monday, when Vaishnavi allegedly died by suicide by hanging herself in her room. Family members became concerned after she remained inside for a prolonged period. Upon checking, they discovered her and immediately informed the police.

Teams from the local police station reached the spot, conducted a panchnama, and initiated further investigation. Officials stated that the exact circumstances leading to the incident will be determined after recording statements of family members and examining other evidence.

The case has raised fresh concerns in Pune, as it follows closely on the heels of another recent suicide involving a married woman. The recurring nature of such incidents has once again drawn attention to issues of domestic stress and mental well-being within households.
