Bhosari, 28th October 2024: Ajit Gavhane, the official candidate of the NCP (Sharad Pawar) and Maha Vikas Aghadi, filed his nomination for the Bhosari Assembly Constituency in a show of strength and solidarity on Monday afternoon.
Before filing his nomination, Gavhane paid homage to the village deity Bhairavanath Maharaj and sought blessings from the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The rally, which began in the morning, passed through key landmarks in Bhosari.
Prominent leaders from the Maha Vikas Aghadi, including Shirur MP Dr Amol Kolhe, former MLA Vilas Lande, and NCP’s city president Tushar Kamthe, were present in a show of support for Gavhane’s candidacy.
Gavhane, a former chairman of the standing committee, is expected to mount a significant challenge in Bhosari, aiming to address issues such as corruption, and what he described as “arbitrary administration” in the constituency. Backed by the Nationalist Congress Party’s (Sharad Pawar faction) national president Sharad Pawar and state president Jayant Patil, Gavhane is positioning himself as a candidate for change.
In his remarks, Gavhane highlighted the Maha Vikas Aghadi’s commitment to transforming Bhosari, emphasizing that his campaign will focus on restoring transparency and tackling the challenges facing the region. His padayatra (march) began in Landewadi, where he offered prayers at Bhairavanath Temple and proceeded to pay tributes at several significant locations, including the Maruti Mandir and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s statue at the Bhosari Flyover.
