Pune Airport Bomb Scare: False Messages Target Multiple Flights
Viman Nagar, 28th October 2024: A fresh wave of bomb threat rumors has once again disrupted operations at Pune International Airport. This time, a message falsely claiming that bombs were planted on multiple airplanes was sent to two private airlines, causing alarm and delays. Passengers faced significant inconvenience as flights were halted and security checks intensified.
According to a complaint filed by 37-year-old Shrikant Chandrasekhar Vadgaonkar, a case has been registered against an individual operating under the name “Adam Alanza 1000” on social media. The threat was made via a message to the official social media account of Indigo Airlines, based in Gurugram, claiming bombs had been placed on planes.
The affected flights included routes from Patna to Pune, Bangalore to Pune, and Kolkata to Pune. Following the bomb threat, passengers were disembarked, and extensive security checks were conducted on the aircraft. Although no bombs were found, the threat caused significant disruption to airline services.
In addition, similar hoax messages were reportedly sent earlier, targeting Vistara Airlines flights from Singapore to Pune, Akasa Airlines from Kolkata to Pune, and Indigo Airlines from Pune to Jodhpur. The police have now registered multiple cases and are conducting a thorough investigation.
