Pimpri Chinchwad, 21st July 2024: The Sharad Pawar group of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) recently held a victory resolution meeting, during which MP Amol Kolhe strongly criticized the Maharashtra state government and targeted Ajit Pawar over his pink jacket. Kolhe’s speech, marked by a critical tone and a notable imitation of Ajit Pawar, resonated with the attendees.
During his speech, Kolhe drew a parallel between Mahatma Gandhi’s iconic monkey sculpture, which symbolizes the principles of “Speak No Evil,” “Hear No Evil,” and “See No Evil,” and the current state of affairs in Maharashtra. He lamented that the state now embodies the opposite ethos: “Don’t speak well,” “Don’t listen well,” and “Don’t look well.” To emphasize his point, Kolhe imitated Ajit Pawar, saying, “Don’t speak well, will see how you get elected,” which elicited loud laughter from the audience.
Kolhe took a humorous jab at Ajit Pawar’s pink jacket, suggesting that the meeting might as well be in Jaipur, famously known as the Pink City, rather than in Pimpri Chinchwad. He quipped, “It is said that there is someone’s meeting in Pimpri Chinchwad, but I came to know that this meeting is not in Pimpri Chinchwad but in Jaipur, because it is the Pink City.” Kolhe added that while the choice of jacket color is subjective, it should not overshadow the serious issues affecting the citizens of Pimpri Chinchwad.
Kolhe also criticized the state government’s provisions for various schemes. He pointed out that while the Ladki Bahin Yojana has a budget of Rs 46 crore, the amount of Rs 1500 per month is insufficient, prompting questions from beneficiaries. Similarly, he criticized the Ladka Bhau scheme, also known as the Chief Minister’s Employment Scheme, which has a budget of Rs 5,500 crore. According to Kolhe, the scheme only provides stipends to trainees for six months, without addressing long-term employment and future prospects for the youth.
