Pimpri Chinchwad Police Bust LPG Stealing Racket In Sangvi

Sangvi, February 20, 2021: A gang stealing liquified petroleum gas (LPG) has been arrested by the social security cell of the Pimpri Chinchwad police. A total of 22 people have been arrested in the case and the operation was carried out in the Sangvi area today.

A total of 381 empty and filled cylinders have been seized in the operation. The accused has been identified as an employee of Bhairavnath Gas Agency and Kankaria Gas Agency and Rs 25 lakh has been seized.

According to senior police inspector Vitthal Kubde,  gas cylinders were taken from the main godown to other godowns and filled with one to two kg of LPG from one cylinder to another with the help of connectors. The accused used to sell cylinders to consumers. All of them are employees of Bhairavnath Gas and Kankaria Gas Agency in the Sangvi area.

The action was taken by a team comprising Senior Inspector Vitthal Kubde, Assistant Police Inspector Nilesh Waghmare, Police Sub-Inspector Sisode, Solankhe and police personnel Kamble, Barkule, Karote, Shirsath, Bharti, Tidke, Londhe, Aswale, Muthe, Women Police personnel Jadhav, Mane and Gawde.
