He agreed parents need not hover (like Helicopter) on the head of kids but should motivate the kids and engage them in proper guidance and provide them with great morals and values. Instead of controlling too much just keep an eye on them.”
“Life is like a test match, even if you couldn’t score in the first innings, you still have possibilities of scoring a double century in the second innings” opined IPS Krishna Prakash as his message to the children, during the talk with young Youtuber Anuj Shekhawat.
When questioned by Anuj regarding his childhood and his goal in life when he was a child Krishna Prakash said, “In my childhood, I had no idea what I wanted to be. There was no one to guide me. TEDx talks didn’t exist at the time, neither did have Google or Youtube. So I had no idea who I wanted to be; however, I knew I always wanted to remain truthful. Being truthful is much better than being good.”
He also shared an anecdote where he was praised for being truthful by the principal in his school. He also spoke about the difficulties of the UPSC civil service exams and shared an interesting story of his interview that he had given for becoming an IPS officer.
He said, “They asked me, how many points I should allot you so that you can become an IPS officer? I responded by saying that I do not care whether I become an IPS officer or not. Hence, do not give me a single mark more than what I deserve; at the same time do not give me a single mark less than what I deserve. They liked my answer so much that I scored 198 points and became an IPS officer.”
Throughout the entire interview, Krishna Prakash gave elaborate metaphors to explain his ideologies and principles in life that would be helpful to young people to reach success.
