Talegaon, 1st February 2024: An incident unfolded on January 28 in the Talegaon Station Chowk area, as an argument over a PMPML bus ticket escalated into a case of molestation and abduction. The accused, identified as bus driver Navnath Venkatarao Dhage (28) and conductor Muja Ganapati Lutte (30), were arrested after a 29-year-old woman filed a complaint with the Talegaon-Dabhade police.

According to Senior Police Inspector Shankar Awatade, the altercation began between the woman passenger and the conductor over the free money on the PMPML bus ticket. The situation intensified when the driver and conductor attempted to forcibly take the woman to the depot, leading to the woman calling her relatives for help.

The victim, travelling on a Nigdi-bound bus from Talegaon Station, engaged in a verbal dispute with the conductor over the ticket. The driver, rather than diffusing the situation, began filming the woman on his mobile phone. Subsequently, a physical altercation ensued, resulting in the driver molesting the woman.

In a distressing turn of events, the driver and conductor forced other passengers off the bus, effectively isolating the woman. Attempts were made to take the bus directly to the depot with the woman on board. Fearing for her safety, the woman called her relatives, who intercepted the bus, bringing it to a halt.

The relatives successfully rescued the woman from the bus, and subsequently, she reported the incident to the police on January 29. Acting promptly, the police registered a case against the driver and conductor, leading to their subsequent arrest on charges of molestation and abducting a female passenger.
