Policeman Died By Suicide By Shooting Himself With Service Rifle

Ahmednagar, 1st October 2022: A policeman deployed at the main gate of Mula Dam died by suicide by shooting himself with a service rifle. The incident took place today (Saturday) around 9.45 am in the police station room located at the entrance of Mula dam in Rahuri taluka. The name of the deceased policeman is Bhausaheb Dagdu Aghav (49), a resident of Baragaon Nandur, Taluka Rahuri.

Aghav was working at the police headquarters in Nagar. He was posted as a security patrol at Mula Dam in Rahuri taluka. This morning, Bhausaheb Aghav shot himself with a service rifle after closing the door in the police station room at the entrance of the dam and died on the spot. The reason for his suicide could not be understood.

On getting the information about the incident, Sub Divisional Police Officer Sandeep Mitke of Srirampur Division, Police Inspector Pratap Darade of Rahuri Police Station, Tehsildar Fasiouddin Sheikh, Water Resources Officials of the department rushed to the spot. District Superintendent of Police Manoj Patil visited the spot and instructed the police to investigate.
