Prime Minister Narendra Modi To Be Awarded Lokmanya Tilak National Award In Pune On August 1
Pune 10th July 2023: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be awarded the prestigious Lokmanya Tilak Award this year, an official announcement in this regard was made by the president of Tilak Smarat Trust Dipak Tilak and his son Rohit Tilak at a press conference in Pune on Monday. The award will be given to PM in an event organised on August 1 in the city.
Narendra Modi has taken the country to a different level at the global platform and that is one of the reasons to chose his name for this year’s award, said officials. The award is given every year by the Tilak Smart Trust on the ocassion of death anniversary of Lokmanya Tilak.
This year it will be the 41st year of the award and eminent personalities including Indira Gandhi, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Sharad Pawar, Rahul Bajaj, Cyrus Poonawalla, Manmohan Singh etc. were given the award in the past. The award is given to persons who selflessly contribute to the nation’s development.
Prime Minister will remain present in the city on August 1 to receive this award. Other leaders including Governor of Maharashtra, Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Ministers, NCP leader Sharad Pawar and Congress leader Shushil Kumar Shinde who is also a trustee of the trust will also remain present at the event, said officials.
