Pune: 11 Thousand People Apply For 938 Homes In Pimpri And Akurdi Under Pradhan Awas Yojana, Lotter On 20th January

Pimpri-Chinchwad, 19th January 2024: In a significant development, the beneficiaries for housing projects established in Pimpri and Akurdi under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Awas’ scheme will be determined through a lottery draw scheduled for January 20. BJP MLA Mahesh Landge has played a pivotal role in navigating this initiative to fruition.

A total of 938 houses in the Pimpri and Akurdi projects under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana have garnered immense interest, with approximately 11 thousand citizens applying for them. The proposed change in reservation purpose, approved by the state’s urban development department, has now paved the way for the eagerly anticipated lucky draw.

MLA Mahesh Landge persistently pursued this matter with the Municipal Administration and Urban Planning Department of the State Government. Recognizing the technical difficulties arising from the initial reservation of seats as ‘houses for the homeless,’ Landge advocated for a shift to ‘Housing for the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).’ This strategic move aims to expedite the allocation process, ensuring rightful housing for the beneficiaries through a transparent lottery draw.

The draw is scheduled to take place on January 20 at the Ramakrishna More Auditorium in Chinchwad, starting at 9 am. The administration’s decision to conduct this lottery comes after overcoming the challenges posed by the original reservation purpose and marks a crucial step towards realizing the ‘Home for All’ concept promoted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Landge expressed satisfaction with the progress, stating, “More than 19,000 flats are being constructed in Pimpri-Chinchwad with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Home for All’ concept. Our stand is that the needy citizens should benefit from it. There were technical difficulties for the project in Pimpri and Akurdi. For this, we followed up with the Municipal Corporation and the State Urban Development Department. He succeeded. Now the administration has announced the lottery process and has instructed the administration to distribute the keys to the concerned beneficiaries by the hands of the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of the state.”
