Pune : 13 Tree Fall Incidents Reported In City Due To Heavy Rainfall, No Injuries Reported

Pune 2nd Sept 2023: The city witnessed heavy rainfall and wind in many parts on Saturday morning. This led to waterlogging and tree falling incidents at several locations. The fire brigade team of the Pune Municipal Corporation was swift in responding to the emergency calls and have attended to a total of 13 incidents of tree fall since morning.

According to fire brigade officials., the tree fall incidents were reported at near VIT College in Bibwewadi, Janseva Society in Kale Padal, Nagarwala School in Kalyaninagar, Samvidhan Chowk in Wanawadi, Near Maruti Temple in Mohammadwadi, Sasane Nagar area in Hadapsar, Shivaji Stadium in Mangalwar Peth, Near Ganesh Peth Police Chowky, Kharadi, Karvenagar, Vimannagar, Ghorpadi Gaon, Nana Peth and Parvati area.

The city received good rainfall after a long dry spell today. According to IMD, 83.5 mm rainfall was reported at Chinchwad, 54 mm rain was reported at Magarpatta while 31.8 mm rain was recorded in Lohegaon. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Pune for tomorrow.
