Pune: 17 NDRF personnel found COVID positive, 27 quarantined

Pune, 15 July 2020: On Saturday and Sunday, 17 personnel of the 5th Battalion of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) were found infected with Coronavirus Disease (COVID19).
According to officials, the positive personnel have been admitted to two hospitals in Pimpri Chinchwad, while 27 of their close contacts have been quarantined. The campus of the battalion located in Sudumbare, about 40 km from Pune, in Maval taluka, is being disinfected and sanitized regularly as a precautionary measure. The jawans have been asked to follow physical distancing and wear mask always.
In Pune district, the COVID cases are increasing rapidly. Till now about 45,000 people have been found infected with COVID and majority of them are from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) areas.
